Richmond, VA

Who are we?  We are a fifth grade class at Jacobs Road Elementary in Chesterfield, which is a suburb of Richmond, VA. Richmond is located in a Mid-Atlantic state and located between the brackish waters of the Chesapeake Bay (it’s our watershed!) and the mountains of the Appalachian Highlands.  If you like fishing, the nearby James River is a great spot!  The James also has the only class IV rapids in a city setting.  Richmond was founded at the fall line of the James River. We have four seasons and have even had two flurries this year. Our summers are hot and humid and winters have freezing temperatures with some snow.  From our classroom we can see deciduous and pine trees and we even saw a couple of deer a few weeks ago.
